Chandigarh: UT Administration has sought for panel of IAS officers from Punjab government against vacant posts. Recently three IAS officers have been relieved from UT Administration.
Ministry of Home Affairs had transferred controversial IAS officer, Prince Dhawan (AGMU: 2012), from the UT Administration on August 18. He was serving as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Central), UT and was also holding charges of Assistant Estate Officer.
Another IAS, Dr Addapa Karthik holding the charge of Secretary CHB along with other charges has been relieved as he proceeded on study leave for two years. Similarly, Bhavna Garg, IAS has also been relieved from UT. She was Special Secretary Finance as we’ll as Secretary Social Welfare. Both these IAS officers were from Punjab Cadre. Three HCS officers from Haryana and two out of three PCS officers from Punjab recently joined UT administration.
Sources in UT Administration personnel department told that UT has asked Punjab to file the names of the probable officers at the earliest to enabler UT to appoint a minimum of four IAS officers. DP
