Chandigarh: UT Administration is going to flank just 1,500 participants from general public for Yoga Day with an overall participation of around 7,000 participants. As per the plans, 30,000 total participants from Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana will be participating on International Yoga Day along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 21. Divulging more information, Ajit Balaji Joshi, nodal officer for Yoga Day said that the list of all participants from Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana has been received. A total of 30,000 participants will be performing Yoga on June 21 at Capitol Complex.
Similarly, said Joshi that over 60,000 will be performing yoga at various 180 spots speared across the city. All such venues will be telecasting Yoga performances of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on LED screens fitted at all around 180 venues. Joshi said, “We have prepared the list of all 30,000 participants. 10,000 each from Punjab and Haryana, 3,000 from Army and 7,000 from Chandigarh will be participating at the main venue on June 21.
From Chandigarh, we will have 3,600 school children including NSS volunteers, 1,000 students from PU, 800 trainers and around 1,500 from general public making it nearly 7,000 total participants.” UT to spend 41 lakh on LED Screens across 180 spots UT administration will be spending Rs 41 lakh on LED screens that will be set up at 180 separate venues across the city on the International Yoga Day. All such venues are where the camps are being held for imparting training.
