Chandigarh: Not taking any chances with the security on the university campus, Panjab University (PU) is now moving ahead to throw out the anti-social elements if found on the campus during the night as well.
“We will not allow any sort of nuisance in any form. We have tighten noose around the outsiders entry in campus in the day time and now our vigil will be in night too,’’ says Jatinder Grover, PU chief security officer.
The management have made strategies to tackle such situation and to create a peaceful atmosphere on the campus, the authorities on Monday had set up four nakas at three entrances which includes Gate number 1, 2 and 3 along with the administrative block.
Further adding to this, Grover said that eight nakas not only on the gates but also inside the campus were planned to be set up but due to shortage of security personnel, four nakas were set up, at present. He also said that the PU management would not give up and now more security personnel to be employed to strengthen and beefing up the security on the PU campus.
PU has taken up number of security measures and has implemented a complete ban on outsiders on the varsity premises. The recent incident of open firing at PU campus has raised the eyebrows of the varsity management following which the authorities have tightened noose around outsiders arriving at the PU campus.
