Chandigarh: Even at an age of 61 years Anupam Kher is eager for new projects. “I still want to do at least 200 more films” said the renowned actor at an event at Panjab University. Anupam Kher in career spanning more than 30 years has 502 films to his name.
He was here at the centenary of Balwant Gargi. Remembering his student day under the guidance of Gargi he said that the only advice he received from the renowned Punjabi novelist was not to be very serious in life. “The only advise which I recived from Gargi was not to be very serious in life” said Kher. Sharing an incident he said that Gargi used to teach about the way Japanese pour tea. The Japanese practice the art of pouring tea for more than six months. “In his first class he talked about how to pour tea. Indirectly he was telling us the importance of patience in life” said Kher.
With his wife Member of Parliament, kiron Kher he also shared the experience of life with the audience. Talking about the difficulties faced due to work in the life he said that Kiron Kher and he gets to meet each other. “We meet each other twice or thrice in two months but is the compassion between each other which holds us together” said Kher.
Contradicting with his wife on settling he said that his dream to settle is Shimla. “Like Chandigarh attracts you (to Kiron Kher), the same way the atmosphere of Shimla reminds of my childhood and it is the place where I would like to settle down” said Kher.
On the same platform Kiron Kher announced a Film Institute for Chandigarh. “A film institute will come up at Sarangpur in the city” she announced. Answering a question she also said that she supports the rights of transgenders and oppose the surrogacy laws which were recently brought. “I support the rights of transgender community and will also say that no government should interfere with the matters of surrogacy” said Kiron Kher.
