Ludhiana: Over recent years, letter writing has been replaced by other ways of communication. Technology has developed so rapidly that we now expect to be able to talk to people instantly and get a response from them almost straight away. Rather than putting pen to paper, for most of us it now feels much more natural to send texts and emails, quickly typing out our message within seconds.
You don’t actually need to smile; an emoticon will serve the purpose for you if you are talking to someone through your electronic gadget. In this world of social media apps, there are shortcuts to even the most romantic of conversations! You can simply send an emoticon to express your emotions. We live in an e-world; e-love is the new trend courtesy which long distance relationships have gained an infinite count.
Ironically in such an environment, many sensitive and emotional beings, after going through all the shortcuts, are again switching back to the golden old days. Talking about myself, in a world where long texts and letters have almost vanished, love for writing always keeps me excited.
This truly amazes me because for me, I am doing nothing but writing like those golden days where love was conveyed through long handwritten letters.
There are a hundred little instances and incidents that you cannot share with anyone but the urge to express forces it all on the pages of your diary! If you cannot speak it, write it. Write it for yourself and if you want to make it large, write it for yourself again but bring it to the world just like Ravinder Singh did when he wrote “I too had a love story”. Writing brings you back to life!
Next time you see someone sitting alone and writing a diary, don’t call him an idiot because may be after a few months when you would still be busy with those smileys and emoticons, his words may have found a place in a bestseller.
“No, I am not cold hearted. I have simply mastered the art of handling emotional imbalances”
Let’s begin the letter writing revolution! Who’s on board?
