Chandigarh: A 26-year-old bouncer was seriously injured after three bouncers barged into a gym at Sector 26 and allegedly shot at the victim on Tuesday morning. The victim has been identified as Akhil and according to the police, he had come to exercise at the gym as his routine. According to the police, the accused has been identified as Mani of Kharar and Gagan a resident of Nayagaon who managed to flee from the spot. Police sources said that the incident occured at around 9:15 am when the accused arrived at the gym and fired five times at the victim. Two of the bullets hit the victim in his stomach and he doubled over, while the assailants escaped from the spot. Following the incident, the victim was immediately rushed to PGIMER and the police was informed about the same. The police also recovered two empty shells from the spot. According to the police, the accused had an old enmity with the victim. “They all are bouncers and had some rivalry which led to the incident,” said a police official. A team of CFSL also inspected the spot. Police sources said that a countrymade pistol was used in the crime. Chandigarh SSP Sukhchain Gill said that they have registered a case of Arms Act and attempt to murder of the Indian Penal Code at Police Station Sector 26. Police teams have been constituted and raids are being conducted to nab the accused, he added. ACCUSED IDENTIFIED IN CCTV A police official said that the accused have been identified and the police have procured the CCTV footage following which various teams have been sent to nab the accused.
