Chandigarh : It’s been few hours that militants with dreaded criminals escaped from Nabha Jail at Patiala and the prisoners are still out but the most important junctions in Chandigarh lack security arrangements and are inviting ‘danger’.
The Chandigarh Police may have been putting efforts to set up nakas in City and checking every suspicious vehicle, but the prominent junctions including the Railway Station, Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) Sector 43 and Sector 17 lacks the security arrangements.
A reality check conducted by the team of Daily Post found that the three junctions which connect Chandigarh from other stations have no security scanners or any security officials deployed. The team of Daily Post reached the Railway Station of Chandigarh and found that the entry to the railway station has no scanner of luggage, neither there is any cop present who can keep vigil over any suspicious activity or individual.
Entering the railway station, there is a set up stand for deployment of cop but the cop was found absent and the stand empty.
From every entry to railway station, it was found that any individual can enter inside the railway station with carrying arms or ammunitions easily as there is no authority of machinery at the entry point.
The Daily Post team then went to the ISBT Sector 17 and Sector 43, where the picture was similar again and there was no check by any official authority. The entries to ISBT Sector 17 and Sector 43 were found with no checks. Though the UT Police have been conducting special search operations at ISBT’s but there is no concrete security arrangement found at the junctions.
