Chief Minister surveys Mansa, crop loss due to white bee.
Chandigarh:- Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh will visit Mansa on Friday to assess the situation arising due to white bees attack. On Thursday, an official spokesman said that there would be senior officers along with the Chief Minister and the Chief Minister had already directed the Agriculture Department to provide all possible help to the farmers. He warned that no laxity will be tolerated in this regard. Taking serious note of the loss to the crop due to the bee, Chief Minister will personally visiting the affected areas and has decided to estimate the impact on the conditions of the cotton crop. According to the spokesperson, he also wanted to carry out detailed surveys related to this loss.Meanwhile, the Chief Minister directed the Agriculture Department and the Police Authority to take sharp action against the sale of counterfeit pesticides, due to which the situation arose, as the white bee affected the crop even after the farmers sprinkled pesticides. They also directed the concerned authorities to ensure the supply of proper pesticides to the farmers so that the white bee impact could be eliminated.
Capt. Amarinder Singh also asked the concerned departments to ensure the supply of quality seed to the farmers facing crisis as they are struggling to maintain their profession and are living under huge debt. He has also suggested setting up awareness camps to know the ways and means for farmers to protect cotton. Chief Minister surveys Mansa and will estimate the crop loss due to white bee.
