Chief Principal Secretary Suresh offered his resignation letter. CM Capt Amarinder Singh’s Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar has presented his resignation, though it has not been officially confirmed.
According to the information of the Chief Minister’s close relatives, he had sent his resignation on Wednesday noon. Ramandeep Singh of Mohali in High Court, through his lawyer HS Brar considered it as wrong and demanded the dismissal of appointment. In the petition by him, it has been contended that there was no provision in the rules for bestowing the rank of a Cabinet Secretary on a retired officer.The court has summoned the Punjab government and Suresh Kumar, and the hearing has scheduled on August 30. It has also been found that the CM has asked his Advocate General Atul Nanda to defend the case and the government has fought a case from a senior official.Suresh Kumar is considered to be close to Captain. 1984-batch IAS officer Suresh Kumar was Chief Secretary of Captain for three and a half years during the period from 2002 to 2007. He was also at the special post in the Badal government. An officer says that if Suresh does not withdraw his resignation then it is difficult to get an honest officer like him.
