A local court on Thursday acquitted Harminder singh Mintoo in an explosive recovery case that was registered after alleged recovery of explosives in a car near Halwara Airforce Base on January 24, 2010. Mintoo was also alleged to be involve in nabha jail break incident.
On January 25, 2010, an FIR was registered by Police at Sudhar Police Station Ludhiana, against the Bakhshish Singh, Harjant Singh, Jasvir Singh Manki, and Pargat Singh under section 4 and 5 of Explosive Substance Act and under section 15 and 16 of Unlawful Activities Act and Harminder Singh Mintoo was attached with above said case under section 120-B of IPC.
According to police, a car was recovered with explosives near Halwara Airforce Base Station on January 24, 2010 As allegations alleged by police, accused mintoo has executed all this with his associates. According to counsel of the accused, Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, other persons except Mintoo were already acquitted by the court in year 2013. During the trial, accused pleaded that he was innocent and falsely impliated by the police. Manjhpur said it was hearsay evidence that did not stand in the court. Mintoo was While going through the detail trial, evidence, witnesses and arguments of the both prosecution and defence side court found him innocent and acquitted accordingly.
