DP Bureau Chandigarh:Ruling BJP is believed to have changed its strategy on fielding non-Jat candidates in the coming Lok Sabha polls. Sources in the party said that the party has decided to field state cabinet minister belonging to non-Jat community but earlier the party had planned to field cabinet ministers of Jat community.
Sudden change in the BJP’s strategy put the opposition parties in a dilemma.Another non-Jat Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi might be the contestant from Sirsa segment. Congress has almost finalised the name of Ashok Tanwar, form this segment who is state Congress president and belong to non-Jat community. The political experts are of the opinion that the BJP is going to witness a tough fight on all the three segments.
Winning the Rohtak seat likely to emerge an uphill task for the party leaders as most of leaders have denied to contest on this segment. The senior leaders were not in the favour to field Jat cabinet ministers and keeping in view the same, the state election committee hesitated to send the name of Jat ministers to the party high command.
The list forwarded does not have the names of possible Jat candidates. Sources in the BJP also said that other state senior BJP leaders, including Ramvilas Sharma and Anil Viz, also would not contest the elections in view of present political scenario in the state
