Slum free: Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu said that Urban Local Bodies Department has prepared a proposal to make the whole state slum free on PPP mode.Initially, the State Government is actively working to make Panchkula slum free, said Capt. Abhimanyu, while replying to a question. In Panchkula, the slum dwellers of Rajiv Colony, Indira Colony and Kharag Mangoli would be rehabilitated by constructing dwelling units over an area of about 40 acres on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode, the Minister said.The transaction-cum-programme management consultant appointed for this work has completed the biometric survey in these colonies. 7,263 beneficiaries have been identified from these colonies for rehabilitation, said he. Capt Abhimanyu further said that the State Government would also get the matter investigated in which for the rehabilitation of slum dwellers, Rs 2500 and Rs 8500 were deposited in the year 1997 and 2009 respectively for the construction of flats. Vidhayak Adarsh Gram Yojana:Under the Vidhayak Adarsh Gram Yojana, the total expenditure incurred upto February 28, 2018 by the Haryana Government stood at Rs 1317.75 lakh, the State Assembly was informed on Wednesday.Out of the total 90 MLAs in Haryana Assembly, the government provided data related to 45 MLAs who had come forward to adopt a village under the scheme. According to the data tabled in the Assembly, not even all 47 BJP MLAs have adopted a village under the scheme.The State Government had in 2015 launched this ambitious scheme wherein the MLAs were to adopt a village. The government had proposed to help in generating models of local level development and effective local Governance besides improving basic amenities, better livelihood opportunities, reduced disparities and access to rights and entitlements in villages.
