Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today assured the Union Government that his government was committed to implement real estate regulatory authority in the state. He said that during the previous government in the state, the central government funds will be brought back to the streets by reducing poverty and starting the construction of houses and reducing their work as early as possible. This matter came in the wake of Captain’s meeting with Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday for housing and urban poverty alleviation. Explaining the progress of the Union government to the Union minister two months back from coming to power two months ago, the central government has not been able to reach the beneficiaries of funds released in the past to implement various central schemes and projects. About the situation was also informed. Captain told the Union Minister that the process for the implementation of RERA has already been started by his government. There will be no hurdles in its way. On the suggestion of the Chief Minister about other states to adopt some rules to strengthen the Raira, Naidu said that the Union government should not object to it unless it is deterred by the spirit of the law.Naidu is scheduled to visit Punjab in the month of July and review the progress of central projects. The Union Minister said that funds released by the Government of India have not been extended to eligible beneficiaries. The Chief Minister assured Naidu that his government will not leave any stone unturned to bring the entire process back on track. The Union Minister assured full support to ensure the implementation of various projects in the interest of the people in the state.
The Chief Minister said that their government will pay attention to the Central government projects alloted to the Punjab Government, which were left in between due to the lack of funds by previous government. He further claimed that they would submit time to time report to the concerned authorities about the status of the projects. He further informed that their government has started the process of attesting the beneficiaries under the scheme of providing houses at the reasonable prices especially beneficiaries of the Central Government. The Chief Minister assured the Union Minister that his government is also working on major projects and policies including the Prime Minister’s housing plan and the ‘Home for All’ mission. The Chief Minister said that the work plan has been prepared for the initiation of necessary reforms in the construction and real estate sector. They are hopeful of its implementation with the help of the central government.
