It can make you or break you. He was known as Naksh from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai before he entered the house of Bigg Boss, and now, fans call him Prince of India.
Rohan Mehra spent 15 weeks in the reality game show, and his journey was full of ups and downs. But the 26-year-old believes that he played honestly and gave his best.
“I played with dignity, that’s what matters to me the most,” says Rohan, who is relieved to see the warm response of people in his support.
“When I was in the Bigg Boss house, I used to wonder as to how I was being shown out there. This season was not only tough…it went haywire,” adds Rohan, who feels that showmakers focused more on the horrendous behavior of the commoner contestants and sidelined the celebs.
The journey of Bigg Boss has changed Rohan, who used to be a pampered kid. He shares, “Whatever happened in the show has also changed me in reality. I am more mature and patient now. The show brought every emotion out of me, but I am glad that I never crossed the line.”
He narrates the way everyone is respecting him for the way he had put up in the house. His admirers have increased, so has his critics, but he laughs them off by quoting Salman Khan, “Don’t worry, I have critics as well. You be yourself.”
Bigg Boss over Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai
Despite making his name from the serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Rohan opens up saying that it was a difficult decision to make. But the monotony of life and work was making him resent as an artiste.
“It turned out to be a good decision at the end. First, I was popular as Naksh, now I am popular as Rohan…this is the best feeling,” shares the actor, who plans to refine his acting skills.
Being a Punjabi, the Amritsar-based actor is relishing the time with his family and has been making rounds to meet his fans.
Not many know that he loves Punjabi culture and is fluent in speaking Punjabi. In fact, Rohan is quite a Punjabi Munda next door. He mentions about his love for Punjabi cuisine and Chandigarh.
“My fans are everywhere. I can see now how well Punjabis supported me. Teenagers are coming up to me and telling me that want to be like me,” reveals Rohan, that has been his favorite fan moment after coming out of the show.
“I played with dignity, that’s what matters to me the most.”
