Ludhiana: Fasting sikh Surat Singh Khalsa, who was continuously on fast for more than a year, was said to be in critical condition, on Friday at Ludhiana. Following his critical health he was rushed to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana, on Friday.
Khalsa has been continuously on hunger strike since 16 Janaury, 2015, demanding the release of Sikh prisoners allegedly languishing in jails even after having completed their terms.
Khalsa was recently discharged from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, on May 31, where he was admitted for around three months back. He had also filed a case in the Punjab and Haryana high court against the police and district administration for detaining him in the hospital against his will.
