Today in a hectic competitive world, every single person, especially students expect that they would get job just after completing their higher studies. But, it has become difficult to get employed in recent time where there unemployment is at the peak.
We caught up experts to bring out few suggestions that may help to away this horrified word, depression for those, who are under the pressure of getting good jobs.
Hence, depression has also become a frequently heard term that can said to be a result of these increasing career related settlements.
While for some it can be the continuous pressure of living up to the expectations and for many, it can simply be the dreams not coming true.
So, we caught up few experts to bring out few suggestions that may help to away this horrified word, depression.
Ashish Sharma, consultant psychiatrist, shares, “The most common cause of depression arises when students don’t get the jobs according the expenditures that they have spent on their studies.
“Also, ignoring talent and focusing to be a part of rat race has brought the mindsets of kids into a completely different phase. They should be taught to plan their career according to the skills they are best at,” adds Ashish.
Likewise, Mala Kapoor, who is an educationalist in the field of psychology, says that making plans for career is not unhealthy.
“But, bringing your thoughts to an extent where your mind starts feeling negative may end up getting into depression.”
She is of the view that depression among youngsters occurs only when they give more importance to pay packages instead of passion.
“Parents are equally responsible for depression in their kids as they start loading their expectations on them,” says Mala, who asks not to compare your abilities with other folks out there.
Meanwhile, we ask Rajiv Trehan, another Chandigarh-based psychiatric to shares few symptoms of depression.
Considering few key points, he explains, “Lack of concentration, lack of confidence, feeling of guilt, sadness of mood and most important- thoughts of committing suicide.”
In contrast, to tackle with depression, he guids, “Make your aims and work accordingly, make a diet plan, take a break from stress and should do yoga and meditation to provide peace to yourself”.
So, the conclusion states that instead of thinking about career and getting into depression, just think about your positive points and talent. Make a plan and work hard according to it. Don’t combine your passion with the packages, instead combine them with profession. If you can make your passion a profession then you will enjoy you’re the most.
