- Employees and contractors observing negligence in issuing tubewell connections to be prosecuted
- Additional grants to be extended to panchayats delivering quality work
- Distributed Hundreds of Tubewell Connections to Farmers from Majithia and Mattewal Circle
Majitha: Punjab Revenue and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Tuesday said that the Congress party had a history of initially creating disturbances in the society and later misleading people by staging the drama of dharnas and protests. He said that the people of Punjab had now become aware of the nefarious designs of Congress party and would not be unduly influenced by them. He said that the Akali party would not allow such shoddy political moves to thrive.
Majithia was visiting the city to distribute electricity connections issued by the government to hundreds of farmers from Mattewal and Majitha. Talking to reporters, he said that the Congress party had made all possible endeavors to disrupt the country’s law and order situation. Majithia added that Simranjit Singh Mann had repeatedly disclosed that during the Khalistani programme organized at village Chabba, it was the Congress party legislators and senior leaders who captured the stage and tried to disturb the peace, though the conspiracy did not succeed.
On the issue of Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh giving a clean chit to Jagdish Tytler, Majithia said that protecting the perpetrators of anti-Sikh riots of ’84 was a compulsion for the Congress Party. He said that intelligentsia around the world were aware about who carried out the pogrom and which organization gave the permission for the same. He said that be it Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi or the anti-Sikh riots accused H.K.L. Bhagat, Sajjan Kumar or Jagdish Tytler, they had not only supported but also rewarded the accused with important posts and positions in the party and in government .
He added that the repeated appointment of the accused as MPs and ministers was a clear indication of the fact they were doing so on signals from those who played a greater role in the massacre. This was the reason that sheltering all of these elements had become mandatory for the Gandhi family and the Congress party. Congress was afraid that if it did not shelter them, they may let the cat out and inform the people about the bitter truth.
Majithia said that the people who had witnessed the genocide were well aware of the fact that it was because of successive Congress regimes that the victims could not get justice even after the passage of 32 years. He said that the Congress had always had an anti – Sikh and anti – Punjab ideology.
Addressing a gathering of farmers on this occasion, Majithia said that the any employee or contractor who caused undue delay in issuing a power or tube well connection, or asked for additional money bribe, ought to be brought to the notice of the police so that cases could be registered against the same. He said that all the material required to install tube well connections has reached the stores and connections were being given on first-come-first serve basis. He said that after a long legal battle with the Green Tribunal, Punjab CM Parkash Badal had acquired approval to issue connections to the farmers of Punjab and nobody would be permitted to obstruct the process. He directed officials from the electricity department to establish a separate complaint cell in each district to initiate prompt action on the phone call made by the farmer in this context.
Exhorting the village Panchayats to judiciously utilize the grants received for various activities, Majithia said that every Panchayat that used the grants prudently would be given additional grants for village development. The Minister also requested the public, the panchayats and the village elders to apprise maximum people about Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojana launched by the government recently, so that a sick person could have access to funds in his hour of need.
