Rupnagar: The additional and session judge of Rupnagar court acquitted the convicted terrorist Jagtar Singh Hawara on Tuesday in connection with bomb blast at Nurpur Bedi in 2005. Hawara was serving the sentence after convicted in Punjab CM Beant Singh’s assassination case in Chandigarh. While providing the information, advocate Sarabjit Singh said that the hearing has been concluded through video conferencing resulted the acquittal of Hawara.
However, the prosecution failed to prove the charges against Jagtar Singh Hawara. On 9 Janaury, 2005 bomb blast was reported outside the dera of Bhaniara wala self styled preacher at Nurpur Bedi. On the next day of incident the police had framed Jagtar Singh Hawar’s name in the FIR and later nabbed him. It has been learnt that besides this, Hawara was facing five cases with multiple charges in Ropar local court. Moreover, he has got releifed from three cases and two are still pending with their trail.
