New Delhi: Pakistan has given a confirmation regarding the custody of Indian soldier Chandu Babulal Chavan on Friday as he accidentally crossed through the Line of Control.
According to the information, Islamabad’s DGMO has given a confirmation while talking to the media persons. He confirmed that 22-year-old Sepoy Chandulal is in Pakistan’s custody. Chavan, posted with 37 Rashtriya Rifles at Mendhar, along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir had “accidentally crossed over” to the Pakistan side on September 29, hours after India conducted surgical strikes across the LoC.
Two weeks ago, Chavan’s grandmother suffered a cardiac arrest and died after the family was informed that he was captured by the Pakistan army. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has already assured his family that Chavan will be brought back soon.
