Raakhwa kota forced student to drop studying & adopt farming. A debate has been ignited up by Keraka student, Lijo Joy, when he not got admission in college, just because of reservation in college. He posted some picture of him doing the farming in fields, as he said seats are reserved for the backward class students in the educational institutes. Joy’s post stated that he has been ‘forced to take up agriculture’ as even after five rounds of seat allotments he has failed to secure admission in any college.Lijo said his friends are going to the college, just because of reservation, who has scored 50 percents marks as he scored 79.9 percents in higher Secondary. “During my struggle for admission I realised that here mark is not the criteria for getting into college, one is reservation and the other is money. Since I don’t have either of them I might be going through this,” Lijo says in his Facebook post.Lijo concludes his post by saying that he has began to enjoy the smell of earth and he is not angry at anyone. He however says people should think about if the next generation needs reservation. Replying to Lijo, many have supports his view and has called for an end of reservation in educational institutions. While others citing their own examples stated how reservation helped them to have a better life, something that they couldn’t imagine a generation ago.
