Chandigarh: Balbir Singh, ‘ardasia’ at Golden Temple who refused to present ‘siropa’ to Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in protest against sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib on Friday joined Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) here in the presence of senior party leaders.
Balbir Singh stated that he refused ‘siropa’ to CM because he was upset over continues desecration of Guru Granth Sahib.
He said that sacrilege incidents at this scale would not be possible without the active involvement of ruling party. “My protest was against failure of government to arrest the guilty of sacrilege”, he said.
He also said that he would work to maintain the respect of Guru Granth Sahib and AAP leadership has given him an assurance to punish the guilty.
AAP gets support from 2 young students
Lambi: Seeking to wrest power in its debut in Assembly polls in Punjab, Aam Aadmi party has got support from an unexpected quarter two young students who are drawing huge crowds at party rallies through their oratory skills.
While BSC student Navjot Kaur (18) is from Lambi’s Kheowali village, MA student Narinder Kaur (22) is of Bharat village in Sangrur.
