Chandigarh: Setting up a new trend that supports the democratic values , Aapna Punjab Party president Sucha Singh Chhotepur has said a big no to the security personnel for the party candidates contesting assembly elections in 78 constituencies across the state.
Chhotepur in a communique sent to the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab categorically stated that all the candidates come from respected backgrounds and have earned goodwill in public for their professional and personal approach towards the society at large. “Thus we do not require the security persons to guard us. It is a collective decision of the party volunteers, members, leaders and candidates to refuse for security and we request the election commission to withdraw the security from the candidates who have already been provided with the same,” APP president went on to add.
He also said that candidates were moving freely in public during their election campaigning and were receiving massive support and admiration. DP
