Prominent Punjabi singer Harbhajan Mann has been honoured in Parliament of England for contributing in the field of Music cinema Folkfore. This happened during the ongoing controversies between authorities and present Punjabi singers, requesting for keeping clean lyrics in their songs.Mann sang in front of dignitaries as well. His wife accompanied him for the honour. In love with the land of Punjab, his connectivity towards his birthplace is clearly expressed through his famous songs like Jee Aayan Nu, Babul Meri Guddiyan, Mai Wari, Karke Desh Began, Jag Jeondeyan de mele, Mawan-Mawan and more.
Moreover, the singer also talked about his journey and struggles to establish his name. After being honoured, an ecstatic man thanked the Parliament members and said that he will always endeavour to do great for Punjabi music. He shared about his upcoming projects. Actor and singer Mann is again working with Punjabi Director Manmohan Singh and has posted about his ongoing concert in Birmingham.
Mann has recently released his song ‘Kangan’, which received the good response. But, a song like this seems very rare in present. Talking about the current scenario of Punjab music industry, he said, “Unfortunately, today, musicians pay more attention to the production of the song than on the melody and lyrics. This has, in turn, diminished the emotional appeal that Punjabi music had.”
