Entry-pass for Secretariat: Soon visitors will create their own pass, anytime

Chandigarh: The peoples will able to get relief soon from the long queues to get an entry-pass before going to the Punjab Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh to meet Ministers or Senior Officers. People will able to create their own ‘entry-pass ‘themselves from anywhere and anytime. The Government has started process to introduce online system for entry-pass. Currently, this facility is available in neighbouring State Haryana and some other State including Odisha and Assam. Sources in the department told that computer application is ready and little work is left.

Often the peoples, who come here Secretariat, mini secretariat to meet Ministers and Officers, have to face the difficulty to make entry pass. In their respective constituencies, the Ministers give appointment to meet in Chandigarh, but often they forget it after other engagements, which lead to long wait for visitors outside the Secretariat. But now it seems to end of the problem. Soon, a system is being prepared in which the visitor will able to apply for entry pass. Request of visitor will be reached inbox of the concerned minister’s or Officers ‘mail and after the approval from concerned person, the reply will be reached with request number on the registered mobile number and email ID of visitor. Once request is approved, the visitor will able to take a printout or showing the received massage, he will get his entry pass at the reception.

Visitor can apply for online pass five days prior to his visit. New system not only will give relief but also save the time of visitors. To apply for online entry pass, a form is being prepared in which the applicant will mention his full description, identification proof, photograph and to whom he wants to meet. But it will depend on the will of Ministers or Officers to allow or disallow. Notable, the same system is being used for booking of rooms at various circuit houses.
