Harmanpreet Kaur who has done a magnificent performance in the women’s World Cup, has been promoted to the post of Special Service Officer (OSD) by Western Railway. Harmanpreet was posted as the head office president of the Western Railway in Mumbai from May 2014 and has now been promoted to become an OSD-sport.A senior officials of the Western Railway said, “The ICC Keeping in view the impressive performance of the women’s World Cup, the Railway Ministry has promoted Harmanpreet Kaur as the premier OSD-sport of Group B’s Gazetted Officer in the Western Railway. “He said that any player affiliated with the Railways is performing well on the international stage, the Railways gives him promotion on the honor.This promotion to Harmanpreet was given on September 7. Harmanpreet Kaur, a specialist in large shots, debuted against Pakistan in 2009. In the semi-finals of the World Cup, Harmanpreet played an important role in delivering 171 runs in 115 balls against Australia to India in the final.However, England defeated the Indian team in the final. On this team’s performance, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu had announced a promotion of Rs 1.30 crores cash to the 10 teams players who are affiliated with railway, along with the promotion of the same. After performing well against Pakistan the Punjab government has also appointed her as the DSP in the Punjab Police.After that she was also honored at many other places. It is worth mentioning that the Indian cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur is natives of Moga, Punjab. Harmanpreet had a lot to play cricket from the very beginning. She wanted to do something for her country from the beginning. Which she showed in the women’s World Cup semi-final against Pakistan.
