Chandigarh, April 10: Access drinking of water can lead to the cause of Sugar, High Blood Pressure, indigestion and Kidney diseases, while to drink less water to be healthy. A senior Ayurveda consultant in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Gold Medalist, Dr Parmeshwar Arora, while talking to Media-men in the Press Club, Chandigarh, told that he is on mission to break the myth that drinking as much water was essential for a person’s well-being. But the truth is that drinking too much water can actually harm one’s health.
Dr. Arora told that these days it was a common practice that if you had to fix your digestion, detox your body, lose weight or if there was burning while passing urine then drink lots of water, but these all are myths. In fact, many ailments related to vital organs like heart, kidney, liver, and pancreas get resolved as a result of drinking less water, Dr Arora said. He also mentioned that the ancient Ayurveda texts and Vedas surprisingly directed people to drink the minimum possible water to remain healthy.Diseases like diabetes were result for the same reason as the pancreas known as ‘agnashay’ in Vedas becomes sluggish, he said. Dr Arora, who has written a book titled “Jal: Amrit ya Vish”, recommends a glass of warm water empty stomach in the morning and a cup of hot water after meals for a healthy life. He told that there are three causes which bring disorder in the health and these are Life Style (15 percent), Pollution (10 Percent) and diet (75 percent) and in diet there is major role of water.He said that no modern science or ancient books recommend drinking much water, but it is European companies, which want to sale their water, water machines, have been misleading the people. Dr Arora told that right quantity of water depends on the weather, the body’s condition and the amount of physical activity one does. He also said that maximum number of R.O. machines are casing the disease as it remove 99 percent minerals from the water.
