Rannvijay Singh pledges to create awareness on responsible drinking habits. A global campaign by Johnnie Walker “JOIN THE PACT’, marked its marvellous 10th year in 2017. This marquee campaign has been encouraging people to NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE. With the aim to collect 5 million commitments from consumers by end of 2018, Johnnie Walker promises to give 1km of safe rides back home for every commitment made.
Enjoying alcohol is an established part of life in many societies around the world, from family gatherings to experiencing music, sport and culture, or just as part of catching up with friends. Since 2005, Johnnie Walker’s involvement in Formula One has been used as a platform to deliver the message global responsible drinking campaign, ‘Join the Pact’ which invites consumers to make a commitment to not drink and drive.
With Rannvijay Singh who recently signed the pact in Singapore, pledged to create awareness and conversations around responsible drinking. “I am very passionate about Johnnie Walker’s Join the Pact initiative and I think it’s a great way to encourage people to be safe drivers. Every party or social gathering I attend, I spread the word about ‘Join the Pact’ and how it will make a difference if we as individuals pledge and commit to Never Drink and Drive” says Rannvijay in a conversation.
In India, 1 road accident occurs every four minutes – and it is estimated that 1.5% of road traffic accidents and 4.6% of fatalities are attributable to drink driving. And, to raise the awareness about the same we can soon expect Diageo the responsible drinking ambassador, Mika Hakkinen in action encouraging the people of Gurugram to take their commitment.
