Shimla: Vice Chairman HP State Forest Corporation Kewal Singh Pathania on Thursday said that some BJP leaders were baffled by the popularity of the present Congress government headed by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and were venting out their frustration through baseless statements. He said that Singh, six time Chief Minister is the most popular leader of the state, who has a rich experience of over 53 years of long political career.
Pathania, who comes from Shahpur in Kangra district, said that the NDA government at the centre was trying to destabilise the democratically elected government in the state and added that the decision of Supreme Court in the matter of popular governments of Uttrakhand and Arunachal Pradesh substantiate the fact, which was a blow to the NDA Government and its malicious designs. The Vice Chairman said that the present Chief Minister has ensured over all development of the state during all his tenures. He added that Dr Y S Parmar was the architect of Himachal Pradesh whereas Singh was the creator of modern Himachal Pradesh.
He said that under the able leadership of Singh the state has witnessed unprecedented development in almost all sectors including education, health, roads, IPH and welfare. He said that not a single corner of the State has been left out in terms of development. He said that BJP leaders, who were feeling insecure due to the massive development being done by the present government, were trying to sabotage the image of the Chief Minister by levelling baseless allegations.
“ But this is not the first time when the Chief Minister is being targeted. Whenever the BJP government came into power false cases were framed against Singh and he emerged clean. This time too he will come out clean,” he said. Pathania said that the senior leaders of the BJP were being humiliated and neglected in the party and were ousted from the BJP led central government.
