Shimla: Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, K S Tomar presented the annual report for 2014-2015 containing the achievements of the Commission to Governor Acharya Devrat who appreciated the initiatives taken by the Commission.
Chairman, Tomar presented the copies of annual reports in English and Hindi to Governor at Raj Bhavan.Devvrat appreciated the Commission’s historical decision to change HAS pattern to IAS pattern which will help the aspirants from Himachal to compete for Civil Services.
The Governor lauded the efforts of Chairman of the Commission to give chance to the successful candidates to give interviews either in Hindi or English which has helped the aspirants in a big way. The Chairman, HPPSC informed the Governor that ninety per cent candidates opted for Hindi as they felt at ease with the language and option has helped all aspirants specially those who hail from rural areas in the State.
Tomar briefed him about the achievements of the Commission which included introduction of new HAS pattern with effect from January, 2017, a decision to launch mobile App, Helpline to guide the needy candidates, conducting Judicial Services written examination twice in a year, eliminating one year gap of HAS examination caused due to administrative reasons.
He apprised the Governor of efforts put in by Commission to finalise the micro level syllabus of new pattern which was possible with the help of more than twenty Professors from HP University, Central University and other Universities of India.
