J&K CM, Mehbooba Mufti, gave strict warnings to the Kashmir people for their acts against police. On Friday, an on-duty cop was beaten to death by pelting stones on him. Regarding it as a shameful event, Mehbooba said,”This is not how you respond to restraint on the part of the police.”
The Chief Minister warned the public that such incidents would only lead to tightening up of the security. She reminded them of the times when people would run just upon seeing a Police jeep on road. It was difficult to make the police hold their restraint after such brutal acts.
J&K Director General of Police SP Vaid reported that 3 of the persons accused have been identified. Two of them are already arrested.
Vaid said,”Two people have been arrested, third person identified. They will have to face the law.”
He added “Our police is one of the best police forces in country, showing maximum restraint because they feel they’re dealing with their own people.”
