Shimla: Even as Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J P Nadda, who had earlier indicated that he might come to the state politics again if the high command wanted, was totally tight lipped on the political uttering before media in Shimla.
The warm welcome accorded to Nadda by BJP leaders during an official meeting at Peterhoff said it all about the changing equations within BJP, with state BJP chief Satpal Singh Satti personally present there. Leading the show to welcome Nadda was former BJP minister and Nahan MLA Rajiv Bindal, who was earlier the confidante of former BJP Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, accompanied by MLAs, Suresh Bhardwaj, Jai Ram Thakur, Gobind Thakur, Govind Sharma, Mohinder Thakur, Ravinder Singh Ravi, state Vice president, Ganesh Dutt, former MLA Khushi Ram Balnatah and many other BJP leaders from the state.
‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given me the responsibility of an important ministry today and I am doing the task,” he said, when asked about his interest to come back to the state politics. “I don’t think about what happens tomorrow,” he added, when asked that what if he is sent by the PM to home state tomorrow. Nadda was not ready to say anything even on repeated questions and made it clear that he was in Shimla today solely in the interest of ‘development’ in state. He did not answer the questions on the performance of the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh and said the Centre expected the state to monitor development works on ground and respond pro-actively to the Central projects. Nadda is seen as a potential rival of former BJP Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal in the run up to the Chief Minister ship in case BJP comes to power in 2017 assembly polls.
