Iran-Iraq Earthquake: The death toll from 7.3 magnitude earthquakes near Iran-Iraq border rise to 129 and over 300 others were reported to be injured in western Iran’s Kermanshah province, an Iranian official said on Monday. The death toll is likely to rise.The Independent said at least 14 provinces in Iran were affected in the earthquake. Damage was reported in at least eight villages, the head of Iran’s Red Crescent Organisation, Morteza Salim area.Schools in Kermanshah and Ilam provinces of Iran would be closed today because of the jolt.The earthquake jolted Iraq side of Iraq-Iran border. The epicenter of the earthquake was near the border, 20 miles southwest of the city of Halabjah in Iran. The tremor was felt in Baghdad and other parts of Iraq, reported the Independent, quoting Iraqi Meteorology department.
