Afghan Police save Indian Engineer Kidnapped two months ago. Afghan police recovered an Indian engineer in a rescue operation on Saturday in Wardak province. Police said they had carried out three operations in the hope of rescuing the hostage but had failed. Finally on Saturday they were able to rescue the engineer. He had been held hostage for around two months ago. Local police officials confirmed the operation, adding that it was their fourth attempt to rescue the hostage.The Indian engineer had been working for an electricity construction company on the Turkmenistan power line project when he was abducted by armed men.
