Taking Citizenship of Canada is now easier than before. Newcomers must now meet the condition of living in Canada for three out of five years, to achieve citizenship under major changes since October 11. By applying this rule, many permanent residents will be able to apply for citizenship.
According to Canadian Immigration Minister Ahmad Hussain, all the barriers will be overcome with new changes, which were implemented by the former Conservative government. At the same time, immigrants would be able to get permanent citizenship without difficulty. Under another major change, the newcomers of 18 to 54 years have to pass the Citizenship Knowledge and Language Test from October 11. Earlier this rule was applicable to people of ages between 14 to 64 years.
