We often come across hearing robberies on highways and roadsides. But what if a road itself was stolen and sold-off? A strange thing happened in China where a thief reportedly stole an 800-metre-long concrete road overnight and even sold the blocks to a factory. Confused locals in the village of Sankeshu in Jiangsu province called police to report that the segment of road had mysteriously gone missing, leading some to believe that an unannounced road renovation was underway.According to reports, police soon discovered that a man surnamed Zhu had hired a digger to rip out the road and trucks to ship the chunks of concrete to a stone materials factory which purchased them. The 500 tonnes of concrete slabs that Zhu removed were bought by the factory for 5,000 yuan.
