Jesus Christ statue reveals: While the 18th-century statue of Jesus Christ in the Spanish town of Sotillo de la Ribera was getting refurbished, the workers of a restoration company found an unusual item in an even more unusual place. They found a hand written note, carefully filled out in calligraphy. Experts claim the note dates back to 1777 and explained that the note was likely put there by a priest at the church where the statue originated. This note discusses popular pastimes, the economic situation, political and religious matters, and famous people among other topics. This note had gone undiscovered for such a long time as the statue was covered by a piece of fabric. During a routine restoration by the Da Vinci Restauro company, workers removed the fabric and uncovered the note.
