Muzaffarnagar (UP): A court here has sentenced one person to life imprisonment for the death of a man during a clash in Rasulpur Dabhri village here.
Additional district sessions judge Arvind Rai also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on Ziaul Hasan after holding him guilty under IPC sections 302 (punishment for murder), 147 (punishment for rioting) and 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon).
Five other accused were acquitted due to lack of evidence.
According to the prosecution, one Rashid was shot dead and six others sustained bullet injuries during a clash between two groups of the same community over slaughtering of cow at Rasulpur Dabhri village in Budhana police station area of the district on 23 September, 2007. PTI
