MP from the main opposition party in London, Labour Party, Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi said in an interaction with media that there is freedom to speech and expresses its views in UK. There are two percent Indians in UK and among them, only few raise this issue, but UK Government does not take it seriously. Not only against India, But people have the freedom to speak against their own country. People of different ideology live in UK.He said, the Government of UK will have to be examined the involvement of Government during Blue Star Operation in 1984 as the pressure is increasing on ruling Conservative party. He said, his party, Labour Party, has demanded an independent inquiry by sitting Judge .The people of England have the right to know what action the British government had taken in Operation Blue Star and what its role was. He said that the British government is answerable. He told that the leader of his Labour party had raised the issue with Prime Minister, while the issue was also in Party’s election manifesto.It is worth mentioning that the action during Blue Star Operation, took place during the Margaret Thatcher government, which also belonged to the Conservative Party.England’s first turbaned Sikh MP, who arrived in Chandigarh on the invitation of National Gatka Association, said that he has raised the turban issue in his first speech, after which the matter was discussed with the government in France and wherever such a matter Come on, his struggle will continue.
