No high-profile film has hit the theatres for a long time, the last one being Rajinikanth’s Kabali in 2016 and this has increased the hunger in movie-lovers for a standout entertaining humdinger of a movie and Baahubali 2 promises to be that and more. The public is expecting to have a rocking time and this fact can be seen from the fact that fans have broken out into wild impromptu dances outside theatres!
Additionally, according to a number of reports, over 1 million tickets have already been sold in just 24 hours. Also, ticket prices have soared to never-before-seen heights and climbed over Rs 2,400!
Baahubali: The Beginning, that was released in 2015, became the first south Indian movie dubbed in Hindi to collect Rs 100 crore at the Bollywood box office.With no other movie releasing on the same day as Bahubali-2, the movie is well-positioned to break box-office records in the southern states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.
Having minted over Rs 500 crore from its opening weekend worldwide, it looks the film has set its eyes on becoming the first Indian film to join the Rs 1,000 crore club. One shouldn’t be surprised if the film manages to achieve the rare feat in its first week as the craze surrounding the second part in the Baahubali franchise is only growing by every minute.
