Patiala: National Theatre Arts Society’s week-long “Rural Punjabi Theatre Campaign”, launched by duo Pran Sabharwal-Sunita Sabhrarwal, which was inaugurated by DC Patiala Ramvir IAS last week, concluded at Hindi Divas at Village ‘Soian’ district Sangrur, covering far-away villages during the campaign. The campaign convener Pran Sabharwal, director NTAS, Fellow Theatre-Television Deptt, Punjabi University briefed the Press today that with a view to strengthening Language Integration and communal harmony, the prestigious Punjabi Theatre campaign concluded on Hindi Day. Sabharwal added that under the effective arrangements, provided by Sangrur district Administration and its DPRO Amandeep Singh, NTAS covered Villages like Haqeeqat Pura, Kular Khurd, Kheri and “Punjab Artists Welfare Association Patiala covered Sangrur Distt. Villages Upli, Chatthe Sekhwan and Soian by presenting powerful social plays including highly informative “Eh Mera Punjab Belio” regarding government’s welfare schemes, achievements, anti-domestic violence “Sukki Kukh”, anti-foeticide “So Kiyon Manda Akhiey” and anti addiction “Saian Kite Wadhaian Kite” etc. The plays and expert actors like choreographer Jagdish Kumar, Gurmeet Kaur Kamboj, Sweety Rajput, Yuvraj Dhaliwal, Mangal Singh Jelly, Jaspreet Singh, Jotinder Singh Ghumman, Harmandeep Singh, Rajshri, Amrit Pal, Harminder, Netar Singh, Jasbir Singh, Kamal, Vikrant and Pran Sabharwal got good response from the gram panchayats and huge gatherings, assembled from surrounding villages. Pran Sabharwal expressed gratitude to Sarpanches for honouring artists and dignitaries, DC Sangrur Arshdeep Singh IAS, Madam Dr. Senu Duggal Director Punjab Information Public Relations and DPRO Sangrur Amandeep Sigh for help and guidance.
