Microsoft urged to offer solar equipment to Punjab. Microsoft has offered to the state government to provide solar power equipment in the state which would be helpful in reducing the cost of electricity. These devices will be used in street lights, mobile charging and Internet connectivity. A joint delegation of Microsoft-affiliated Company with the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, discussed this pilot project. The Chief Minister directed the Punjab Energy Development Agency to set up a group so that the possibilities could be ascertained. Kevin Connolly, Director of Energy Access Initiative Microsoft at the meeting put his views in front of the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister directed the officers to consider technical support in this regard. In the meeting, Welfare Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, A Venu Prasad and other officials were also presented.
