MLA withdraws his protest after assurance from CM no interference by Jakhar

Chandigarh: The Congress MLA Nathu Ram from Balluana of Fazilka district has withdrawn his protest after assurance of no interference by the Congress State President Sunil Jakhar in his constituency, which is a part of Abohar sub-division. According to sources, assurance was given by the Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh over the phone. To sort out the issue, Nathu Ram was called at CM’s residence, yesterday late evening, the CM talked to him over the phone because he (CM) could not return from Delhi at that time. After assurance, the MLA took charge of his constituency, again.

Four days ago , in his letter written to President State Congress Sunil Jakhar, Schedule caste MLA from Congress Nathu Ram had alleged that he was being targeted to be a Dalit by the State Congress President Sunil Jakhar and his family members. In his letter, it was alleged that Jakhar and his family has been intervening in his area and transfers of officers have been done on the behest of Jakhar. MLA had also complained to party high command.

Notable, All the Civil and Police officers, tehsil office, BDPO office, DSP office Balluana, Food and Supply office, PSPCL, Irrigation, Agriculture office for Balluana are situated in Abohar, despite in Balluana, which causes controversy between the two constituencies, often.

In the ongoing controversy, MLA Nathu Ram was in contact with Sandeep Sandhu and Chief Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar, both confidents of CM. Efforts to persuade an annoyed MLA were going on to stop the matter going in the hand of Akali, who are going to organise a rally in Abohar area on September 9. Source told that all the genuine demands of MLA have been accepted and he was also assured no intervention in his area. Source also told that soon a meeting would be held to make a hug between both, Sunil Jakhar and Nathu Ram. After the assurance, MLA started to work on Panchayat Election in his area.
