Speed of 65 trains from Northern Railway are being increased from 1 November. This information has been given in the railway’s new time table. Railways are going to reduce the run time of about 500 trains from 15 minutes to 3 hours across the country.
In the new time table, the focus is on increasing the speed of trains running in all the railway zones. On the other hand, Election Commission has banned new time tables and publicity of new trains in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, due to assembly elections.According to the new time table, the speed of 51 express and 36 passenger trains of Southern Railway has been increased. The speed of 37 express and 19 local passenger trains is being increased in East Coast Railway.Northern Railway has given three new trains Tejas, Hamsafar and Antyoday Express.Tejas Express is India’s first semi-high-speed and full AC train. It will run from New Delhi between Chandigarh and Lucknow from Anand Vihar.Hamasafar Express is a completely 3-tier sleeper train. It runs from Sealdah to Jammu-Tavi one day a week. This week between Anand Vihar and Allahabad runs for three days. All coaches in Antyodaya Express will be unregistered i.e. general. It will run from Darbhanga between Jalandhar and Bilaspur to Ferozepur in a week.Railway has taken care of in the scheduling that the city in which a passenger is to be reached, get more time in the day. It reached there early in the day and could complete his work and return on time. Keeping this in view, Railways has rescheduled 23 trains. Their departure time has been reduced. At the same time, the departure time of 13 trains has been increased compared to earlier.
Prevention of Time Table and Publicity in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh
Election Commission has banned the announcement of new trains in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh and publicity of their time table. It is noteworthy that in Himachal on November 9 and in Gujarat there will be voting on 9 and 14 December. The results will come on December 18.The Election Commission had written a letter to the railway ministry last week that the railway is about to announce its new timings (Trains on a Glance) and it has to be applicable for these states.
