After the removal of Abhay Chautala from the chair of the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, now it will be offered to the Congress party as it has maximum MLA’s in the House fulfilling the required criteria for the post. The Congress, which has 17 MLA’s in the 90 members House, is the main opposition in the assembly.
The lobbying for the chair among the Congress leaders continues to witness spurt. However, other factions led by Kiran Chaudhary and Ashok Tanwar are likely to oppose it strongly which may result in rift among the leaders ahead of parliamentary elections. “The party has to still take decision regarding the matter and Abhay Chautala should have resigned from the chair after the split in the party and family immediately,” said Ashok Tanwar.
Political experts are of the opinion that the party high command may approve the name of Kuldeep Bishnoi to avoid any kind of feud among senior party leaders.
