Gurgaon Police on Wednesday announced Rs 2 lakh reward for anyone who provides information of the accused behind the gang-rape of 26-year-old women from Sikkim last week.The police also questioned around six people, including the victim’s friend, and recorded their statements.On Monday, the police had constituted a Special Investigating Team (SIT) led by Amit Kuhar, DCP crime and other senior officials to probe the case. The SIT has been scanning call detail records of the victim and her friends. The police also released a sketch of one of the accused, on Monday evening.Announcing the reward money, Gurgaon police commissioner Sandeep Khirwar said: “A reward of Rs 2 lakh has been announced for information leading to the apprehension of the criminals involved in the rape case, which was registered in police station sector 18, Gurgaon.”An official investigating the case said that they had obtained CCTV footage from RWAs and other sources close to where the incident happened. The 26-year old woman alleged that she was abducted by three persons in a Swift car between 2.40am to 2.45am near her house in Sukhrali. She was later dumped in Najafgarh near Delhi, and she approached the Delhi police, who helped her in reaching to their counterparts in Gurgaon.An FIR in this regard was registered under section 376-D (gangrape), 365 (kidnapping), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
