New Delhi: Banks Union Strike on August 22, service may be hit. Government bank account holders may face difficulty in coming days. According to the sources due to the strike in public sector banks, functioning of banks could be affected. So, banking services would be down and ultimately affect common people.Bank organizations have called for a strike on August 22 in support of banks against railways and some other demands. However, the functioning of private sector ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank is likely to remain normal. However, there may be a delay in transactions through cheques.General Secretary of All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOC), DT Franco said that no end result has been found in the meeting with Chief Labor Commissioner and neither has any assurance from the management of the government and the banks. Now bank organizations have no choice but to open a strike. On Tuesday, 9 organizations related to banks across the country will be on strike.All India Bank Employee Association (AIBEA) General Secretary, CH Venkatchalam said that our demands includes: strict steps for recovering debts, implementation of parliamentary committee recommendations, taking stringent measures for recovery of undue debt, Terminating the Board bureau, declaring the big defaulters a criminal. He also said that banks should not shift the burden of unrecovered loans of Corporate Companies on customers in the form of increasing fees.
