Bihar board mentions Kashmir seperate country : Bihar’s infamous education department continues to grab headlines, and yet again for all wrong reasons. This time, the state’s educational experts have come up with the claim that Kashmir is not a part of India but a separate country.“What are the people of the following countries called?” Kashmir was mentioned as a country in the list which was distributed across government schools. Other countries listed in the question paper were China, Nepal, England and India. Sources said that a student appearing for the examination pointed out the error to the invigilators. Bihar board of education made a mistake by mentioning kashmir as a seperate country.Officials said that the examination was part of Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan, a Central government programme on elementary education, and was being conducted by the Bihar Project Education Council (BPEC) department.BEPC state programme officer Prem Chandra of bihar board, however, knew about the gaffe. “It’s very embarrassing, I admit,” he said and called it a printing error. Sources in the education department said the question papers for the BEPC examinations are prepared centrally though they are printed at multiple locations.
