CMs of Naxal Affected States to meet Home Ministry On 8th May, It seems as if the central and state Goverment are coming close to get rid of naxals. Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh are expected to be there. Ten chief ministers alongwith top civil and police officers of Naxal-hit States were invited to attend a meeting convened by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on May 8.The meeting, to be held two weeks after 25 paramilitary personnel were killed by a band of Maoists in Chhattisgarh. Chief secretaries and directors general of police of the 10 states will also attend besides chiefs of paramilitary forces. District magistrates and superintendents of police of 35 of the worst-hit Naxalite-affected districts will also be present.Home ministry officials said currently 90% of Maoist activities were limited to 35 districts, though they have a hold over pockets in 68 districts in 10 states.The aim of the meeting was to get rid of naxals. Home Minister, Rajnath Singh said that this meeting is extremely important because we have to plan how to use our resources properly.
