BJP sweeps in Delhi MCD Elections.
Counting of votes began this morning for Delhi’s three municipal corporations – North, East and South – which went to polls on Sunday. Delhi people once again rejected the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress. As per the trends available for 270 seats, the BJP won 181, AAP 46 and the congress 31. Others took 12 wards of the three civic bodies.
AJAY MAKEN resigned from his post.
The Congress,which performed way better than 2015 Assembly elections, humbly accepted the mandate. Taking responsibility of party’s defeat Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken has resigned from his post. while AAP once again has alleged that its not a BJP but surely EVM wave.
BJP credits PM Modi for victory.
BJP chief Amit Shah credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance for the victory and said, “The people of Delhi have rejected negative politics, the politics of excuses.”
People in Delhi have suffered because of negative politics that hit a new low in the last two and half years, and the time has come for some positivism, says city BJP chief Manoj Tiwari.
All the three parties expecting a favourable mandate, even as an exit poll has predicted a “landslide victory” for the BJP. The MCD elections is an important addition to the BJP’s list of victories this year in state and local polls across the country. approximately 54% voting is recorded for this election.
Five issues on which election is contest
All three parties contest elections on these main issues: cleanliness, pollution control, poverty eradication, to provide more facilities regarding health education, no new tax should be imposed on delhi people. but people shows their faith on BJP.
