Delhi Third ring road project: To tackle the huge traffic on the roads of Delhi, the city can get third ring road soon as National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), as it has proposed a project to build a 49-km long corridor to remove the congested roads in capital.High level meeting was held by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in which NHAI suggested completion of the urban extension road 2 project in the capital, connecting three major highways in Delhi and according to transport ministry official this project will be completed in two phases.
In the first phase, work will be completed between National Highway-1 and NH-8 while the second phase will connect NH-8 with NH-10 and NH-2. Delhi PWD had earlier planned Kalindi Bypass as decongestion proposal for Ashram Chowk.
Project is executing the project worth 34000 crores to make delhi traffic free- Union Road Transport and Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari said in a high level meeting.
